Caribe Maya Experience

Enjoy a unique 1-hour show in which 20 members of the Garifuna Percussion Orchestra of Guatemala will delight you with the most select of the music and dance of this impressive culture, while expressing their history and traditions.

In order to complete the Caribe Maya experience, you will enjoy the best Garifuna and Maya-Q’eqch’i gastronomy, merged in the tasting menu: Tapado, Casabe, rice and beans, and red salad, which are traditional dishes of the Garifuna culture, and the Pachay Fish, which is a traditional recipe of the Maya Q’eqch’i culture in Izabal. How to get

From Guatemala City take the highway CA-9 North, towards Puerto Barrios, which is approximately 300 kilometers away. Arriving at Puerto Barrios, head towards the Municipal Pier on 12th Street, to take the public boat to Livingston, which operates from Monday to Sunday from 6:30 am to 7:30 am, 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The boat trip takes approximately 30 minutes. Once in Livingston, take the main street, cross to the left 100 meters from the pier, and then about 40 meters, is the entrance to the restaurant, which is located at the Rio Dulce Riverside.
