Cave Tourism Plan Grande Quehueche

Take a walk for 1 hour and 20 minutes through the tropical rainforest from the community Plan Grande Quehueche to Plan Grande Tatín, and visit the amazing Cueva Del Tigre (tiger cave), a sacred place that represents the entrance to Xibalbá, the Underworld according to the Mayan worldview.

This monumental rock formation protects the Tatín river pools, where you can take a refreshing bath in a natural pool.

How to Get
From Guatemala City take the highway CA-9 North, towards Puerto Barrios, which is approximately 300 kilometers away. Arriving at Puerto Barrios, head towards the Municipal Pier on 12th Street, to take the public boat to Livingston, which operates from Monday to Sunday from 6:30 am to 7:30 am, 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The boat trip takes approximately 30 minutes. Already in Livingston, take a 4×4 pick up to travel in the back of the vehicle, or you can book in advance, the mountain bike tour to Plan Grande Quehueche. Both the use of the pick up, as the bicycles, can be coordinated with the community, to the telephone: (502) 5718-1872. The route is approximately 6 kilometers.
